The Council for Economic Education is pleased to announce the formation and development of the new HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education.

Underwritten by a generous lead grant from HSBC-North America, the new HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education will magnify the Council for Economic Education’s cause by promoting the importance of K-12 economic, financial, and entrepreneurship education in the United States and internationally. The Center will also showcase instructional materials, training programs, and state-of-the-art approaches to K-12 economic, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education.

The HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education will serve as a visible and accessible launch site for new programs of the Council for Economic Education where visitors, including educators, business and foundation representatives, policymakers, and the media can observe economic, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education in action. The Center provides an excellent opportunity and venue to strengthen and expand the Council for Economic Education’s program activities in the New York City region.

In coordination with the formal opening of the HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education, professional development workshops and events will be offered to New York area teachers throughout 2009 and beyond.
