SUBJECTS

  • AP Economics

Every AP Economics class, Micro or Macro, needs a college-level textbook. Every AP class also needs to supplement its textbook with lessons that break down and explain the complicated morass of economic jargon. Economics is only a “Dismal Science” when students can’t make meaning of the concepts being presented. This workshop will present ways to simplify some of the economic jargon of those texts. Also covered will be the recent changes in the AP courses, revisions in CEE’s AP workbooks that meet those changes, and ways to enhance your teaching for the AP course and tests. Topics to be covered include: a discussion on current topics such as QE II; an update on monetary and fiscal policies; which content/concepts need more depth versus breadth; and pedagogical tools for interactive learning. Raise your teaching know-how and deliver confidence-building lessons that thoroughly prepare your students for the AP Micro and Macro exams. All participants will receive copies of both teaching manuals and student workbooks for the Micro and Macro courses.
