Your Credit Counts Challenge: Trainer's Guide

Introduction

The National Council on Economic Education (NCEE) has been leading the charge for economic and financial literacy for over 54 years. NCEE directs its efforts toward the nation's schools and teachers. We teach the teachers, and equip them with excellent, standards-based and standards-setting materials. Through their teachers, we help to prepare students from kindergarten through 12th grade to develop the real-life, critical-thinking skills they will need to succeed as consumers, investors, productive members of the workforce, and responsible citizens.

The Your Credit Counts Challenge program now extends NCEE's mission to adult learners. When delivered by skilled instructors, the contents of these materials help adults to make better choices, where it counts. The such as earning an income, financial institutions, credit, housing, saving, investing, and knowing the basics of our market are those of the greatest importance to adults for their future financial security.

The outstanding activities written by Mark C. Schug and William C. Wood are only the starting point of this path-breaking venture. Each of the NCEE, NCNE and Household contributes unique strengths to the Your Credit Counts Challenge program. NCEE provides both content expertise and training for workshop presenters. As a grassroots community organization, the National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise (NCNE) understands adult audiences and how to reach them effectively. Household International contributes its extensive knowledge of financial institutions, credit and money management, and volunteers. Each partner has a national network of affiliates to facilitate exceptional and effective delivery of the Your Credit Counts Challenge workshops across the United States.

We are particularly grateful to Household International for making these publications and workshops possible. We are confident that this program will truly lead the way to better financial literacy.
