January marks Financial Wellness Month, a nationwide reminder of the importance of building strong financial foundations. At CEE, we’re committed year-round to helping K–12 students develop the knowledge and skills they need to make sound financial decisions. This month, we’re spotlighting resources for educators, students, and anyone ready to boost their financial confidence.

Winter Institute for Teachers
Join us January 21 to 23, 2026 for CEE’s free virtual Winter Institute, a three-day event designed to bring educators engaging presenters, ready-to-use activities, and fresh classroom inspiration to teach economics and personal finance.
Financial Fitness for Life
Financial Fitness for Life provides high-quality instructional materials for use with K-12 students. CEE offers a student workbook and teacher guide.
Activities and Lessons
Take advantage of the more than 150 free activities and lessons provided by CEE’s EconEdLink. Educators of all grade levels can take the stress out of incorporating personal finance into their classrooms by using these thoughtfully created tools.

National Personal Finance Challenge
Financial Wellness Month kicks off with the opening of National Personal Finance Competition (NPFC) registration. The NPFC is a nationwide competition that provides high school students the opportunity to build and demonstrate their knowledge of money management. Teams showcase their expertise in the concepts of earning income, spending, saving, managing credit, investing, and managing risk.
Financial Foundations Classes
Invest in Girls, a program of CEE, offers courses tailored to teen girls that teach you the basics of personal finance, how to invest money, how to build your professional skills, and teach you about career opportunities in finance. Each course takes place online after school and is free to attend.
Mentorship Program
A great way to gain knowledge, insights, and connections is through the Invest in Girls Mentorship Program.
You are paired up with an amazing woman in finance for monthly conversations throughout the spring.
